McDonald, a junior, competes in the 200, 400 and 4x100 relay, and has raced the 100. She and Martinez primarily run anchor for the 4x400 team.

The 17-year-old tore her right ACL on Jan. 28, 2009— then she pointed to the soccer pitch where it happened. She needed two operations but now gallops like a gazelle.
